The Event
Procter & Gamble decided to use their October 2006 Annual
Business Review to celebrate 50 years of United Way Support and
to kick off their two week United Way Fundraising Drive.
Six hundred staff members from the Greater Toronto Area would be
treated to this Halloween extravaganza at the Toronto Centre for
the Performing Arts, Recital Hall.
The Assignment
To create the atmosphere, they asked Videoscope Staging
Consultant, Gary Scott for a Halloween theme.
Gary and the set designer worked collaboratively with P&G,
through four design revisions to get it just right.
The set pieces are custom painted. The moon is actually a
lighting effect, using a custom glass gobo.
For video images, Videoscope provided a 10,000 lumen LCD
projector.
The Results
P&G President, Tim Penner, conducted the morning
business meeting in business attire, but when he reappeared for
the United Way Kickoff, he was Elvis, aka “the King”, in
full rock and roll regalia. The two
Campaign Chairs were “Captain Mountie Jack”, who could easily
have sailed off to join the Pirates of the
Caribbean, and “the Phantom.”
It’s clear that the people of Procter &
Gamble know how to have fun providing serious support for their
corporate charity. P&G is the largest consumer packaged goods
supporter of the
United Way, contributing over a million dollars a year to the United Way
of Greater Toronto.
This event kicked off two weeks of enthusiastic employee efforts
that included employee canvassing, a P&G walk, Days of Caring, a
warehouse sale, a book fair, a jewelry sale and CRAZEE Events.
Corporate events that
you’ll never forget!
Videoscope specializes in creative staging that sets the atmosphere
for memorable events.
For the biggest “Wow!” the set design is a custom work of art,
with lighting, sound and video projection to enhance the mood.
For Procter & Gamble, Videoscope was delighted to set the
Halloween stage for the serious fun of United Way fundraising.
