Congratulations to Don Valley North Toyota on the grand opening of a spectacular new facility. A fifty-vehicle showroom, fifty-five service bays, one hundred and six thousand square feet of indoor space - that gives an idea of the size, but doesn't touch the quality of the building. "It has much more the feeling of a performing arts centre than a traditional car dealership," says Lorne Feld, CTS, of Videoscope. Lorne was responsible for providing and installing the Digital Signage and Audio Visual Systems for the facility. The Showroom on the west end of the building is joined to the Service Area on the east by a two story Link. "The architecture creates a welcoming atmosphere. The huge open area just invites you to roam," says Lorne. Car shopping at Don Valley North is a family affair with a play room for little kids and a Video Game Centre with two Sony PlayStations for kids of all ages. WIFI internet is at your fingertips; the waterfall in the cafeteria welcomes you. Or you can watch the mechanics work on your car through the floor to ceiling into the Service Bays. After attending the Grand Opening, Videoscope General Manager, Mike Spear commented: "The design inspires confidence that you are being well served. Having the Service area transparent to customers speaks to the quality of the work. And you will never be bored waiting for your vehicle." Videoscope System Consultant, Lorne Feld, C.T.S., began discussing digital signage and A/V System Integration with Don Valley North General Manager, Amin Tejani and Project Manager, Ken Yokayama about two years ago when the new location was just a piece of land - the best time to start A/V planning so infrastructure can be part of the building. Digital Signage now runs on 9 LCD screens throughout the location carrying custom Don Valley North Toyota TV. In the Service area you can view the status of your car. In the second floor Customer Lounge, the screen promotes the benefits of rust-proofing and accessories like Boomerang Security and NAV systems. The Employee Training Room and the VIP Room feature Polycom Audio Conferencing. To secure the Sony PlayStations, Videoscope created custom Plexiglas cases. "The engineering team from Videoscope was very professional and conscientious in installing the equipment, to ensure they didn't damage millwork and walls," comments Don Valley North Toyota General Manager, Amin Tejani.
