A/V Invisible
The Boardroom at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre

Sometimes what you don't see is what really counts.

The boardroom on the second floor of the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre is elegant in its simplicity.
But for boardroom functionality, it still had to have a projector, a screen, audio conferencing, speakers and
a way to control them.

Videoscope's design and installation ensures that the equipment disappears when it's not in use.
Only the two pods of the ClearOne Audio Conferencing system are unobtrusively visible on the table.

The Sony VPLFE40 Digital Multimedia Projector descends from the ceiling at a click on a wireless panel. When it retracts, it disappears completely.
Four full range wide dispersion speakers are also tucked away above, flush with the drop ceiling.

The 120 inch, motorized screen from recessed in the ceiling, rolling down in front of the art work on the back wall when needed.

The cabinet below it hides a professional rack.
This houses a Sony DVD player and the Crestron control system which handles all the devices in room.
The wiring runs behind the wall and above the drop ceiling.

James Heron, Executive Director or the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, comments:
"The installation was very professional and reflected a clear understanding of the JCCC's needs, as well as offering expert advice on how
to overcome some peculiarities of the space."

Everything in the room is controlled by the Crestron control system, but it is visible only as a 6.4 inch wireless touchscreen panel. Videoscope provides custom programming to cover all boardroom options. The panel is laid out simply and clearly for easy operation by non-technical users.

To create invisible A/V, advanced planning is essential.
"The best time to plan boardroom A/V is before the room is built, or before renovations begin," explains Lee Burke, Videoscope Engineering Manager.
"That way you avoid expensive retro-fitting."
A/V installation can be a messy business when construction is still in progress.
