Engineering from “A” to “V”

a Profile of Videoscope Engineering

From substantial to whimsical, sporting to teaching, Videoscope Engineering takes on installation projects of all descriptions.

Videoscope has always provided professional installation for the products we sell.  In the early days, our broadcast trained engineers worked mostly on production solutions for studios, post production houses and corporate media departments.

As our AV design business grew, the engineering department became an integral part of design-build solutions for our corporate customers.
Now Engineering Manager, Lee Burke is coordinating multiple installation teams.

Commercial Digital Signage

Videoscope was contracted to install LCD panels throughout BMO Field, Toronto’s professional soccer stadium. They have been up and running right along with Toronto FC and the FIFA Under 20 World Cup.

In an on-going project, Videoscope Engineering has installed LCD monitors in over 100 Bell World locations in B.C., Calgary and the Greater Toronto area.

Production Installations

The Engineering team has kept up to date with high definition and fibre optic production technology. In July 2007, we built a multi-camera High Def Flight Pack for Image Central and Image Pacific.   For details click on HD Flight Pack

This spring, the Weird on Wheels, YTV truck, rolled into the Videoscope parking lot. Lee Burke originally installed and wired the AV equipment in 2000.  But it was time for upgrades and improvements for the 2007 WOW! Tour across Canada.

Converging Technologies
Many of our system designs bring together production and presentation capabilities – a Videoscope specialty.

At eDome in Sudbury, Cambrian College created a one-of-a-kind teaching/demonstration threatre. Videoscope worked with the college staff to design the system and installed all the A/V equipment, including a complete control room. For details, click to eDome.

The Ford Star Broadcast Facility for Distance Learning also involved a studio and control room at the Ford Motor Company of Canada headquarters in Oakville. For Details, click to Ford Star.

At the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, Videoscope has installed A/V in five classrooms with another one underway.  For information about the Toronto Stock Exchange campus installation, click to Ivey at the Exchange.

Avoiding Installation Snafus

The Engineering Department is involved at all stages of design build projects, working with the Videoscope production and presentation system design consultants.

A site check by an engineering project manager, early in the planning process, can be crucial for any installation. As Lee Burke points out: “With projectors, cameras, and large displays being mounted on walls and in ceilings, it’s essential to identify construction and electrical requirements. We can coordinate with the construction trades to avoid costly retrofitting.”  With touch screen control panels programmed to operate every piece of equipment in a room, advance planning leads to a smooth installation.

Whether you purchase a presentation system or video production facility from Videoscope, you can be sure it will be properly installed, tested and maintained through our experienced Engineering Department.
